The history of Israel

For those who don’t know the Bible it may seem strange to them that the Jews are “God’s chosen people”. But to deny this would mean denying both the Old Testament and the New. God told Abraham that he would multiply his seed (offspring) like the grains of sand on all beaches and the stars in the sky. God has done that. And even when a vast amount of Jews in the Old Testament turned away from God, He worked with the “faithful remnant” of Jews who still followed Him as God.

The Jews of the first century by and large missed completely the fact that Jesus Christ was their Messiah. That happened because they had developed their own theology about exactly how the Messiah would come and what He would do. In all Jewish hearts of the first century, they believed the Messiah would come and rescue them from the tyranny of Rome. They had no idea that the Messiah came for not an earthly kingdom, but to establish the kingdom of God in two phases: First, the kingdom of God on Earth – the “abundant life” that is only available for Christians who establish a real relationship with Him. Second, the kingdom that will never end – the kingdom of Heaven.

The apostle Paul grieved over all Jews that failed to recognize their Messiah. He said he would be willing to go to hell if all the Jews would be saved as a result. Paul also knew, as did Christ’s disciples and followers, that sincerely asking Christ to become their Savior meant not that they were no longer Jewish, but that in knowing the Messiah they became complete in their faith.

Two of the greatest miracles prophesied in the Bible have occurred in the past 65 years: the exodus that has brought a huge and constantly growing number of Jews back to Israel, beginning in 1947; and the magnificent way Israel has changed a barren desert into “a land flowing with milk and honey” (a land of fruit trees, beautiful buildings, and creative genius in every area of life).

The following video is outstanding in outlining the history of the Jewish people. Jews are the only nationality that has remained for far the most part “pure”. In other words, they haven’t crossbred like all other nationalities have done. The Bible says this would be true as well. Watch this video and you will be watching a miracle unfold.
