Conversations With God: Eating, vitamins, and the Temple of the Lord

Ray: Hello Father. I ate a banana this morning.

GOD: Good. Your forty day fast is complete.

Ray: What changes now that I’m eating again?

GOD: You will have a more balanced nutrition whenever you choose to eat moderately.

Ray: Thanks again for making these past forty days easy on me.

GOD: You have been obedient, son. I am well pleased.

Ray: Is there anything else you want for me to do for You?

GOD: Live for Me. Obey me.

Ray: I’m doing those things now.

GOD: I know. I am well pleased.

Ray: Father, thank You for sending that young man from the Bible college to our office yesterday. He says he wants to intern with us, help us, and work for us without being paid a salary.

GOD: Yes. He’s a fine young man. He knows I will reward him for his work for you. Others will join him to greatly help this ministry and you. You can trust him, and the ones who come with him.

Ray: You promised You would be sending staff to join Arlyne, Betty, Ron and me. Thanks for doing it so soon.

GOD: Today I release you to your work in My field. You have much to do and I will be with you in all you do.

Ray: Lord, does that mean some days we will not talk as long as we have on most of the earlier days?

GOD: Yes. Length does not determine answered prayer. Nor does a dialogue with Me have to have a certain length. I want your undivided attention for a period of time at the beginning of each day before you go do other things. Sunday is the exception, because that is when you go to church. Then meet with Me Sunday afternoons at your convenience. But all other days I want to talk to you before you do much more than eat breakfast. Once in awhile I may even tell you to meet with Me BEFORE breakfast. The other exceptional days will happen when you are preoccupied with a morning event directly involving Me. Then, so that you will not overtax your body, I will wait for you until we can meet and talk.

Ray: Father, why are you so kindly concerned about me “overtaxing” my body? My body belongs to You. Don’t you take care of it then and oversee its health and wholeness?

GOD: Only to the extent you allow Me to oversee it. Yes, I am the Great Physician and the Lord who heals you. But you control your body’s health generally by how you take care of the temple of the Lord.
