The Last Battle, Chapter11 - THE PACE QUICKENS

Quick as lightning, Rishda Taarken leapt back out of the reach of the Kings sword. He was no coward, and would’ve fought single-handed against Tirian and the Dwarf if need were. But he could not take on the Eagle and the Unicorn as well. He knew how Eagles can fly into your face and packager eyes and blind you with their wings.

Alibaba Now Shows Its Fangs - September 22, 2014 – Ray

No sooner did I say nice things about the quadzillion dollar company Alibaba, than it began to unveil its other side. Alibaba has been on America’s stock market since last Friday, rising like the Phoenix from its 215 billion dollar starting point that it had developed in China for the past 15 years to a dream spot of 38% higher following the first day of active trading. Already it’s hideous fangs are snapping at any American company trying to get on to the Chinese stock market. It is proving itself to be fully committed to Chinese communism.

China’s leaders are prouder than a peacock of Jack Ma, the head of Alibaba, because he’s easily won the American sweepstakes and has come home with the prize that will keep on ticking. It is easy for Alibaba to keep winning in China because China won’t allow Americans to play.

China has double the number of Internet users that America has. – 600 million people – and that still leaves out more than half of the Chinese population. But in spite of America giving Jack Ma the Red Carpet treatment, that smile on his face must actually be a smirk. It turns out he fully welcomes American money, but he doesn’t like American breath.

China has blocked America’s two major social networks – Facebook and Twitter – and America’s number one online search engine – Google. China is obviously throwing down its glove to challenge and then defeat Silicon Valley. But while it works to do that Alibaba will compete with deceit.

And Alibaba will climb into the sky with money from the American rich who are seeking to be much richer even if it means aiding and abetting the enemy. It appears now that China is building a second tower of Babel. This one will be completely made of money. The Bible doesn’t tell us how long the people took to build the first one. But I’ll bet it was a lot slower than this one will be.

Google isn’t acceptable in China because it won’t allow censorship. The Prime Minister of China, Hu Jintao, can’t imagine allowing all Chinese to speak freely, especially over the social media where they might tell the rest of the world what’s really going on there. And his gang who surround him in leadership don’t believe in freedom of speech either, no matter how much money they make from other countries who do.

Erin Ennis, who is the vice president of the U.S.–China Business Council, an advisory and advocacy group for

U. S. companies that do business in China says “AliBaba’s Initial Public Offering last Friday in America is a good reminder that among the reasons why U.S. firms have succeeded in China is that they are largely barred from doing business there.”

Censorship and the laws of China aren’t the only reason companies like eBay or Amazon aren’t being given a place at the high-stakes Chinese table. Both companies are far too small. EBay is simply a microcosm of what Alibaba has already become. And Amazon is a local corner bookstore compared to Alibaba.

Chinese owned and operated Baidu is the Google of China, and Tencent is their social network that also owns the WeChat messaging service. WeChat works as a communication device for businesses in China.

Robert Atkinson, president of Information Technology and Innovation Foundation, says Those companies are “sitting on a somewhat protective home market. Their profits and margins are higher than they would be if they had legitimate marketplace competition. They are using that money to finance their overseas expansion. And they are now the most valuable Internet companies in the world.”

Nicholas Lardy, a senior fellow at The Peterson Group for International Development says “Alibaba already has substantial international reach and they clearly aspire to more. It will pose a huge challenge to U.S.-based Internet firms.” That is an understatement. Alibaba with all its power has a clear shot of establishing itself as number one in the rest of Asia, Africa and Latin America. Even Silicon Valley is shaken with the thought that Alibaba could offer its Internet services to America, and they are so creatively advanced from what we have here now.

So it’s not just cyber attack from anyone; it’s not just Isis and dozens of other terrorist organizations; it’s not just the Ebola virus and chemical warfare; it’s not just Vladimir Putin; it’s not just North Korea; it’s not just Iran; it’s not just climate-out-of-control; it’s not just racial tensions; it’s not just forty thieves accompanying Alibaba; but it’s Alibaba itself who could spread its Communist propaganda with plans for China (that owns properties all over America) to conquer our great nation.

Is there any American listening who thinks this would be a good time to call on God to bless America again and tell us what the heck to do?

Hello America. Hello world.

From the headquarters of reachmorenow.com in Fort Worth, Texas, this is Ray Mossholder and this is the news.

There’s a new kid in town and he has taken everybody by storm. His name is Jack Ma. His company is Alibaba and he is making far more money than his predecessor ever did, even though his predecessor had forty thieves working for him.

Jack Ma is supposed to be a Communist – Red Chinese. He developed Alibaba in Red China fifteen years ago, which means he must have started as a teenager because he is anything but an old man now. At 49, he’s got more energy than a power grid, and more imagination than Steven Spielberg.

He seems like a really great guy, a bit shy but friendlier than a pet Poodle. The way he’s working the table, he’s really a capitalist in Communist clothing, immediately making gazillion dollars in America on his first day here. Only Columbus had done that until now.

Jack Ma’s interviews are really worth watching even if you don’t know what an IPO is – it stands for Initial Public Offering – which refers to the first day any company offers their product to the stock market and the investors can begin buying shares.

If you have never heard of either Alibaba or Jack Ma, don’t hang your head in shame. I hadn’t heard of them either until yesterday. There hasn’t been a lot of fanfare hyping their arrival among us earthlings. Only oober rich were invited to share a Poo Poo Platter with him when he got here. You had to be a serious player who loves plunging rolls of cash into riding the stock market roller coaster, or a big businessman who smokes cognac-dipped “His Majesty’s Reserve” the most expensive cigars in the world at a thousand dollars a stick that Bill Clinton smokes thanks to our taxpayer money, or who fire people just like Donald Trump.

Let me help those of you who, like me, are just hearing about Jack’s Ma and his Monopoly game for the first time. You know what eBay and Amazon are. Well, Alibaba is an ocean compared to eBay and turns Amazon to a tribe of pygmies. It blows both companies away and leaves them in the dust.

Last Friday, when it made its Initial Public Offering in America, Alibaba’s market value was measured as 231 billion dollars and eleven cents. But the stock market went crazy, lifting Alibaba’s profits 38%. It is rumored that when he returned home he bought China.

So this brings us to the question “What on Earth does Alibaba do?” Well, imagine a smorgasbord as long as the state of Texas, only instead of food it is full of the kinds of earthly treasures that made eBay, until now, the flea market of the world. As someone put it “eBay and Amazon are now going to be like mom-and-pop stores in a very tiny town compared to Kroger that owns 3,619 supermarkets and growing.

So if you’re looking for something to do with that hundred dollar bill floating around in your wallet or purse, you might want to buy one share of Alibaba, but I warn you – watch out for those forty thieves.
