TAKING COMMUNION

When you take the bread and wine
You are doing very fine.
The bread is Christ, the wine His blood,
Partaking of it releases a flood
That washes away all sickness and sin
And let’s the Christian start over again.
Our Lord never wants communion routine
He just wants you to know what the elements mean.
How often you do this depends on your need
“As oft as you do it,” your spirit He’ll feed –
Every day, week, month or year.
Please don’t take it in religious fear.
Do it always in remembrance of He
Who gave His life to set you free.
