His family announced the news of his passing at a San Diego hospital on his ministry Facebook page early that morning.
On the eve of his death, ministry partners, fans, and friends urgently asked for prayer on social media, offering a wave of early tributes that spread through end-times prophecy circles and chapters of Concerned Women for America (CWA), the 600,000-member public policy organization founded by LaHaye’s wife, Beverly. Some circulated a statement by LaHaye’s daughter Linda: “He will not recover from this, he will soon be graduated to heaven.”
Reverend David Jeremiah, Tim LaHaye LaHaye’s successor at the San Diego church he led for 25 years (then named Scott Memorial Baptist Church, now named Shadow Mountain Community Church where Tim’s homegoing was celebrated), “Tim was one of the most godly men I have ever known. Almost every conversation I had with him ended with his praying with me and for me. He wrote me extended letters of appreciation for what God was doing in our church. We shared long lunches together talking about ministry and praying for our nation.
“When I look back over [his] life, I am reminded of Paul’s words concerning King David: ‘He served his own generation by the will of God’ (Acts 13:36),” stated Jeremiah, senior pastor of Shadow Mountain and founder of Turning Point. “Tim’s ministry will continue for many years through the books he wrote, the organizations he founded, and the people that he influenced. But I will miss him when I look out from my pulpit next Sunday.”
“Whose life hasn’t been affected in some way by this man?” wrote Prophecy Watchers, a two-year-old ministry based in Oklahoma City that announced the news of LaHaye’s stroke, describing him as a friend and supporter. “This is a great man of God and if the Lord takes him home, he leaves behind a wonderful legacy. In the words of Steve Green, ‘May all who come behind us find us faithful."”
“Thrilled as I am that he is where he has always wanted to be, his departure leaves a void in my soul I don’t expect to fill until I see him again,” stated Jerry B. Jenkins, who co-wrote the Left Behind books with LaHaye, in the obituary released by the LaHaye family. [Jenkins wrote a tribute for CT on “the Tim LaHaye I knew.”]
The founder and president of Tim LaHaye Ministries and founder of the PreTrib Research Center, LaHaye sold 62 million copies of the series with Jenkins. “In terms of its impact on Christianity, it’s probably greater than that of any other book in modern times, outside the Bible,” the late Jerry Falwell, a friend of LaHaye’s, told Time Magazine in 2005.
CT ranked Left Behind among the landmark titles that have shaped evangelicalism. LaHaye and Jenkins not only had readers rethinking the rapture, but also the potential popularity of Christian novels. “The book launched a series that launched a marketing empire that launched a new set of rules for Christian fiction. The series spent a total of 300 weeks—nearly as long as the Tribulation it dramatized—on TheNew York Times‘s bestseller list.”
The series, whose first title released 21 years ago this month, still sells in the six figures annually, according to Jenkins.
“Tim LaHaye’s history as a published author is intertwined with the entire history of Tyndale House,” stated Mark D. Taylor, chairman and CEO of Tyndale House Publishers. “His first book, Spirit-Controlled Temperament, was published 50 years ago in 1966. It was the very first book published by Tyndale House apart from the Living series of Bible paraphrases. And Tyndale’s highest-selling series of trade titles has been the Left Behind series. … Tim was a wonderful Bible teacher and pastor and an inspiration for our entire industry. We will miss him.”
“It was LaHaye’s idea to fictionalize an account of the Rapture and the Tribulation,” according to his bio on the official Left Behind website. It notes:
LaHaye originated the idea of a novel about the Second Coming. “Sitting on airplanes and watching the pilots,” he told People magazine, “I’d think to myself, ‘What if the Rapture occurred on an airplane?"” LaHaye looked for a co-writer for several years and was then introduced to Jerry B. Jenkins through their mutual agent, Rick Christian, president of the Colorado Springs literary agency, Alive Communications, who also negotiated the book deal.
“Writing the Left Behind novel series for him and traveling with him all over the country to promote it, I saw the softer side of a man known for strong opinions and polemic views,” stated Jenkins. “The Tim LaHaye I got to know had a pastor’s heart and lived to share his faith. He listened to and cared about everyone, regardless of age, gender, or social standing. If Tim was missing from the autograph table or the green room of a network television show, he was likely in a corner praying with someone he’d just met—from a reader to a part-time bookstore stock clerk to a TV network anchorman.”
Earlier this month, LaHaye publicly celebrated his 69th wedding anniversary with his wife. Time magazine labeled the pair “the Christian Power Couple” in 2005, listing them among the country’s most influential evangelicals. “[Beverly] has been my faithful partner in marriage, parenthood, ministry, and many things we never dreamed. We are still in love today!” he wrote. “God has been faithful to us and we continue to claim as our life verse, Proverbs 3:5 & 6, ‘Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths."”
He also founded two accredited Christian high schools, a school system of 10 Christian schools, San Diego Christian College (formerly Christian Heritage College), and assisted Dr. Henry Morris in the founding of the Institute for Creation Research, the nation’s foremost exponent of creationist materials.
LaHaye wrotee more than 60 non-fiction books on a wide range of subjects such as: family life, temperaments, sexual adjustment, Bible prophecy, the will of God, Jesus Christ, and secular humanism with over 14 million in print, some of which have been translated into 32 foreign languages. His writings are best noted for their easy-to-understand and scripturally based application of biblical principles that assist in facing and handling the challenges of life.
In his message honoring LaHaye, Jeremiah began by saying that there is a term that appears in the Old Testament 75 times in 70 passages: Man of God. Five people are given that title: Moses, Samuel, David, Elijah, and Elisha.
But in the New Testament, only one reference is found, and interestingly enough, it refers to a man named Tim.
1 Timothy 6:11 reads: “But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness” — an apt description of LaHaye’s life, said Jeremiah.
He also noted that despite LaHaye selling over 90 million copies of his Left Behind book series, which he co-authored with Jerry Jenkins, the money and popularity that ensued never changed him.
“I knew Tim LaHaye before the Left Behind series and I knew him after and I couldn’t tell the difference,” Jeremiah shared.
LaHaye’s co-author of the end times series, Jerry Jenkins, recalled many memories he shared with the pastor/bestselling author and said it was an “unspeakable privilege” to have known LaHaye. Having seen LaHaye up-close-and-personal, Jenkins shared about a particularly strong memory he had of his writing partner. Jenkins said that during their travels if LaHaye suddenly disappeared, he could often be found somewhere praying with someone he just met.
Jenkins sprinkled many humorous anecdotes about LaHaye in his tribute, including how he was first introduced to LaHaye as “a bestselling nonfiction author with a great fiction idea, and you’re a novelist with no ideas,” which he recounted with a laugh.
He also shared about the time they were in Atlanta at a book signing event, and LaHaye had forgotten his hearing aid. A woman that got her book signed had returned 20 minutes later to buy an entire box of their books.
LaHaye said to her, “You’re back!”
She replied, “Yes, on my way home the Holy Spirit arrested me and told me to buy a box of books for my friends.”
Not having heard her correctly, LaHaye said, “What did you get arrested for, speeding?”
But Jenkins said he will remember LaHaye most as a soul-winner.
“He was way more interested in reports of who had come to faith than he was about any royalty check or bestseller list. And as thrilled as I am that he is now where he has always wanted to be, his departure leaves a void in my soul.”
Three of LaHaye’s grandsons and his two daughters, Lori and Linda, through tears, shared fond memories of “Pop.” All of them noted that sharing the good news of the Gospel was his greatest joy.
At the end of the service, Tim’s wife, Beverly LaHaye, gathered their entire family to share with each generation what she and LaHaye had been praying for them.
“I’m sure today, he’s looking forward to all 39 of you joining him in heaven one day, to spend eternity in the presence of our Savior, who gave his life for each one of you. He would not want any one of you to be left behind, and I say that with all sincerity,” she concluded.

To me, a NoTrumper is a NoVoteCounter who is thumbing their nose at the millions upon millions of voters who seriously believed their vote would count in America and be honored in the primaries. NoTrumpers believe thhey know far better than American voters do.
It could be the fact that American history has had a bait and switch in nearly every American classroom so the truth of what happened has now been made trivial or isn’t thought about at all. As one student told me when I was teaching school “George Washington looks funny in that wig. He sure doesn’t look like a guy I’d follow anywhere.”
This is Part 2 about Khizar Khan and his attack on Donald Trump at the Democrat National Convention.
Let me ask you something. If someone hits you in the mouth do you usually punch back or stay silent and allow them to do it over and over again?
Let me ask you another question: If you disagreed with someone who before more than 10 million people attempted to humiliate you with their statements, wouldn’t you respond and defend yourself if you knew what they were saying wasn’t true? That’s what Donald Trump did. And the mass media then attacked him for responding. Does the word “fair” mean anything to Americans anymore?
Khizar Khan tweets more than Donald Trump does and that’s a lot. In fact, he has been on social media over and over again since his bombastic slurring of Donald Trump’s reputation. And he annihilated his website almost immediately after his rant to keep you from knowing that he specializes in international trade law for Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Trade law for either country requires the baksheesh, a large Muslim bribe, which can easily amount to millions of dollars.
And, no matter how the lamestream media wants to cover up the fact (and they do keep doing that), Kahn is a lover of Shariah Law. He is Muslim, so that’s no surprise.
Khan’s invasion of social media isn’t new to him. He’s been tweeting and Facebooking for years. But unless you are anti-Israel and pro-Shariah Law, you may find a tour through his on–liners nearly as insulting to your intelligence as Donald Trump did the night he was verbally attacked.
For example, in talking about his superstar appearance at the DNC, he complained “It would have been 13 minutes, but the DNC advised me to cut my comments on Israeli settlement policy.”
Here’s another: “Here, no one is a second-class citizen because of their religion. This isn’t Israel.”
Here’s still another: “Our favorite founder is Thomas Jefferson, of course, who was inspired by the Holy Quaran.”
Kahn, in another post, Photoshopped a picture of Donald Trump’s wife, Melania, that makes her stark naked. Under that picture Khan wrote “America is stronger together because of Muslims and our values, such as modesty for women. Mrs. Trump should learn.”
How would you react if someone put a picture of your naked wife, naked mother or naked sister on Facebook, Photoshopped or not? Do you really believe Donald Trump should just let that go by without a word in defense of his wife?
Khan says anyone who does not agree with him has a “black soul.”
I wonder why Hillary Clinton wanted to have Khizar Khan represent her at the Democrat Convention – since Donald is right about what Khizar says about women. He says that women shouldn’t drive. Of course, come to think about it, that may be fine for Hillary since she hasn’t driven a car for more than 25 years.
Don’t fault Khan for his Muslim beliefs. They are the same beliefs that anyone who is truly faithful to the religion of Islam believe. Things like that a man should have multiple wives, the legal right to beat wives, stoning females who are charged with committing adultery, killing your teenage daughter for dating “an infidel”– (an infidel is anyone who isn’t Muslim.)
Shariah Law endorses killing all Christians or anyone else who doesn’t join Islam. Homosexuals and lesbians aren’t even given the chance to embrace Islam. They are simply executed for what Muslims believe is extreme perversion. And Muslims themselves separate anyone who leaves Islam to become a Christian or join any other religion.
Muslims believe there is no God but Allah and forcefully insist that everyone who wants to live agree. In short, they believe that anyone who is not a Muslim, or will not convert to being a Muslim, is not fit to live on Earth any longer.
So, I ask again – why would Hillary Clinton want Khizar Khan to represent her the week of her crowning as the Democrat nominee.
Here’s still another of his tweets – “I would like to see some Pakistani– Americans traveling with Mrs. Clinton. Representation is important.”
He has also tweeted how much he would like to see Hillary wearing a burqa when she is sworn in as president, obviously placing her hand on the Quran.
And I keep saying Khizar Khan, but his full name is Muhammed Khizar Khan. Democrat elites have a way of erasing middle names names they don’t find appropriate to their campaigns. Thus, Barack Hussein Obama became the less offensive Barack Obama; Hillary Rodham Clinton is reduced to Hillary Clinton because it’s too easy to make fun of the word Rodham by changing it to things like “rotten” or “road ham”, and when Khizar Khan was introduced at the DNC, there might have been a somewhat different reaction from the crowd, at least the millions watching over television, if they invoked his first name – Muhammed.
It is not to be forgotten that the Kahn’s lost their son in the midst of battle 12 years ago. I can’t imagine the pain of that. I am deeply sorry for their loss. Captain Humayun Kahn is only one of 14 Muslim soldiers fighting for America who have died in action since 2001. To have your son be one of them must make you cry out “Why my boy?”.
That, of course, can’t come close to comparing with the Japanese during the Second World War who were contained in American internment camps. Imagine the family whose son declared they wanted to go to war from the internment camp to fight for America and defeat the Japanese. The Japanese were so devoted to their Emperor that they, like Isis, became suicide bombers – only, in their case, the Japanese committed suicide to the glory of their Emperor by diving into American or British ships.
So when a Japanese son told their parents they wanted to fight against Japan, their parents felt totally disgraced and many a Japanese father, the patriarch of the family, wanted to live after such an announcement.
Japanese young men join the 442nd Regiment. The result was the highest percentage of casualties in the history of the United States Army.
If the Muslim communities in America wanted to allow themselves to be absorbed into America’s culture, then Donald Trump would have no problem with that. He is not a racist. But he is one who believes in America first. And those living in America who refuse to take on the American way of life present in a multitude of minds, including Donald’s, the divisive difference that could bring our nation to have Shariah Law forced upon it. His concern for America’s borders and his belief along with millions and millions of others that we need to build a huge wall there, is based on his love for America and the American way.
My late brother, Ronnie, was in charge of an oilfield in Saudi Arabia for 25 years. He used to shake his head when he watched dedicated Muslims speaking on television and giving their opinions. Ronnie said “In Islam it is never considered ‘lying’ when a Muslim tells him non-Muslim anything. That’s a widely accepted belief.”
Americans who say they won’t vote for Donald Trump because he hates Muslims should have to account for the many many Muslims who he employs. But the newspapers, television, and radio are silent about that. It would almost appear as if they want Hillary Clinton to be the next president of the United States. You think?

In this heated presidential race where being “fit” and “stable” have become terms in the arsenal of both campaigns, startling photographs emerged today showing Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton clearly needing help in climbing up some stairs.
The photos, published by the Reuters and Getty news agencies, show Mrs. Clinton, 68, receiving help as she tries to ascend a staircase in front of a home. The images were actually taken in February when the former first lady was campaigning for president in South Carolina.
The popular Drudge Report splashed a banner headline this +Sunday evening that stated, “2016: Hillary conquers the stairs.”
Mrs. Clinton has a history of falling. After fainting and falling in 2013 while U.S. secretary of state, she was treated for a blood clot in a vein in her head at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia hospital.
In 2009, she fell on her way to the White House and broke her elbow.
Reporter Kyle Olson of the American Mirror asked in a brief article about the new photos on the stairs, “At what point is the mainstream media going to question Clinton’s health status?”

A July 21 video posted on YouTube shows Clinton’s head suddenly turning and shaking vigorously for several seconds.
Blogger Jim Hoft of the Gateway Pundit headline it: “Wow!” Did Hillary Clinton Just Suffer a Seizure on Camera?”
“The poor woman is in worse shape than we thought,” he wrote.
Last month, the American Mirror reported a coughing fit that broke out as someone else was speaking during an appearance.
WND reported in January, following several of the coughing fits, that her refusal to answer questions about them – or to explain why she wore eyeglasses fitted with Fresnel prisms – raised concerns from several physicians that her campaign was keeping health records hidden.
She had a huge coughing fit during a speech in New York City.
Then, in a visit to Las Vegas, she wore thick, black glasses fitted with Fresnel prisms.
At the time, WND asked several physicians if they believed the glasses, which are used to correct double vision, could be related to the concussion she suffered in December 2012 that resulted in a blood clot in her head.
WND also asked whether Clinton’s repeated coughing bouts could be related to her hypothyroid condition for which she is taking Armour Thyroid, as WND previously reported, a natural remedy made from desiccated pig glands, or from her apparently congenital predisposition to form blood clots. To prevent clots, as WND reported, she is taking Coumadin, otherwise known as warfarin, an old but commonly prescribed blood-thinning medication originally developed as a rat poison.
WND also reported the medication Clinton has taken since 1998 to deal with her blood-clotting problems may have side effects such as blurred vision and confusion, both of which she has experienced. And a California physician warned Coumadin could be more life-threatening to her than the possibility of a recurring blood clot.
“It is very hard to draw substantial conclusions from the limited medical information we have on Hillary Clinton,” explained Dr. Todd Lasner, a neurosurgeon at Mount Sinai Medical in Miami.
“We cannot opine with 100 percent certainty, because we do not have all the medical facts,” he said. “Fresnel prisms are typically used to correct double vision, to refract light through the prism so you can see a single image as you are normally used to seeing.
“My first suspicion would be the Fresnel prisms were prescribed for Hillary Clinton because of nerve damage causing double vision resulting from a trauma to her head, possibly from the fall causing the concussion,” Lasner concluded. “But without her medical records, I cannot say for certain.”
Dr. Daniel Kassicieh, D.O., a dual board certified osteopathic neurologist and a leading headache specialist who directs the Florida Headache and Movement Disorder Center in Sarasota, Florida, agreed that the diagnosis of Clinton’s double vision and the prescription of a Fresnel prism lens would require consultation with a medical specialist.
“I saw Hillary Clinton first wearing the eyeglasses with the Fresnel prisms when she testified to Congress on Benghazi in January 2013, and she continued to wear them a while,” Kassicieh told WND at the time. “Then I saw her again this week in Las Vegas wearing those black eyeglasses with the Fresnel prism lenses, and I wondered when her double vision came back, or if it never really went away.”
Kassicieh said he noticed Clinton’s coughing spells seem also to be a persistent and recurring problem.
“I think Hillary’s cough is a separate medical problem from her double vision,” he said. “But it makes me wonder if there isn’t something else going on with her health that we don’t know about.”
Dr. Ronald Hoffman, a New York City physician who hosts the nationally syndicated radio program “Intelligent Medicine,” told WND in a telephone interview then that without the medical records, “we really have no idea what the medical condition causing Hillary Clinton to be wearing eyeglasses fitted with Fresnel prism lenses.”
Hoffman is past president of the nation’s largest organization of complementary and alternative doctors, the American College for Advancement in Medicine, or ACAM. He’s the founder and medical director of the Hoffman Center, specializing in a natural medicine approach that combines nutritional and metabolic medical assessment tools with high-tech innovations in traditional medicine.
The staircase photos come the same day WND reported how experts have said Hillary may have physical and mental health issues.
Talk-radio titan Michael Savage finds it fascinating that the media would focus on Trump’s supposed craziness while failing to explore Hillary’s mental state.
“Very interesting, considering Obama is clearly a sociopathic liar,” Savage, author of “Liberalism is a Mental Disorder,” told WND. “Hillary is a sociopathic liar. Of course they would try to smear a man who built his own empire rather than stealing it from the taxpayers and foreign governments. Of course his mental state intrigues them given their own mental deficiencies and pathologies. To the coelenterates in the media, transsexual songs ring truer, Islamists do not exist and there is no terror, only a lack of jobs. So who is the sickest?”
Hillary Clinton has indeed become well known as a serial liar, as fully two-thirds of Americans, 68 percent in a recent poll, said she was neither honest nor trustworthy. Not only does Clinton lie to protect herself, as she has regarding Benghazi and her private email server, but she lies when there appears to be no benefit to doing so.
For example, she famously claimed she was named after Sir Edmund Hillary for his conquering of Mt. Everest, even though that didn’t happen until six years after Clinton was born. She also notoriously claim she landed under sniper fire in Bosnia in 1996, when newspaper and video accounts revealed exactly the opposite.
“Robert Reich, M.D., a New York City psychiatrist and expert in psychopathology, says compulsive lying can be associated with dementia or brain injury,” Dr. Gina Loudon, a political psychology and behavior expert, told WND. “Otherwise, compulsive lying can be associated with a range of diagnoses, such as antisocial, borderline and narcissistic personality disorders.
“This might explain Hillary’s consistent unlikability factor, along with her consistent denial of lies, even in her lying about FBI Director Comey pointing out that she lied multiple times. Most of America believes her to be a liar, and yet she seems to have zero remorse, even and up to the point o and I know f costing American lives.”
In addition to pathological lying, Clinton’s temper has reportedly been a problem in the past. A former military K9 handler described how then-Secretary of State Clinton once flew into a blind rage, yelling “get that f**king dog away from me.” She then berated her security detail for the next 20 minutes about why the dog was in her quarters. After Clinton left after slamming the door in their faces, the leader of the detail explained to the K9 handler, “Happens every day, brother.”
